TriCity ARA Minutes of August 18th, 2008 (not yet approved by membership)

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by President Arnold Knack.

Present were Stephen and Terri VanHerpen, Arnold Knack, Ed Buelow, Gene and Carol Melton, Herb Ash, George and Carla Chaet, Visiting was Tim Newbill from COG, our guest speaker Rick Aldom and his spouse Diane.

Secretary – minutes read and approved.

Treasurer – Checking account balance is $181.80, savings account balance is $542.43.

Website update – The tricityara.com domain name needs to be maintained. Motion was made, seconded and approved to make the payment for 2 years.

Extra License Class, Stephen Terri, Ed, Jack, Bob were in attendance at the course held at Jack’s house. Chapter 11 was covered. We had fun.

Palo Verde Exercise – Kevin Weslowski is looking hard for volunteers to work the 4 days planned for the Palo Verde Emergency Evacuation Drill. Dates for the RCC portion of the exercise are as follows:

• September 26, 2008 0900-1400 Dress Rehearsal
• December 9, 2008 0900-1400  Full Scale Exercise (tentative)
• February 5, 2009 0900-1400 Dress Rehearsal
• March 5, 2009 0900-1400 Full Scale Exercise (FEMA evaluated)

Business Meeting closed at 7:45.

Following the close of business, Rick Aldom gave an excellent presentation on the aerostat that flies north of Yuma.
